    After children...

I was married when I started teaching and devoted a lot of before and after school time to my classroom. As long as I was home about the same time as my DH why not stay in the room. I taught for about three years before I had my first DS. I didn't spend as much time after school, but didn't slack on my teacher responsiblities either. As my children grew and even started school, my teaching changed. I would say for the better. I started thinking in terms of my own children being in the classroom. How would I react from a parent's point of view now. I varied my teaching and how I tried to reach my students. Not that I let my parents dictate all I do. I still hold my students accountable and set my expectations high but reachable.
