My Writer's Workshop By wildcatsgr3

| My students use a composition notebook (the black and white ones) for our mini-lessons and their writing after the mini-lesson. When they pick a story that they want to continue to expand on, they use notebook paper and store it in a folder with 3 brads at their desks with their composition notebooks. When they are ready for their final draft, they get to pick what kind of paper to put it on (I buy the computer paper with different themes) and they can either type it or write it in their neatest handwriting. The finished product goes in a binder (each student has their own) which stays on a shelf in the room. During their free time, they are allowed to use white computer paper to draw an illustration to go along with their final draft - but only after they have completed the final draft. Something that I have found very helpful is to buy the folders myself - all in the same color so when it's time for WW, I just hold up the red folder and all of the students know what time it is!
