I did Stations this year every day. The kids LOVED them. I honestly kept it very simple. I paired them up ( I should tell you that I had 27 students in my class-- I only did stations when the 4 Special ed kids, and the 9 title kids were out of the room--so this was easy with only 14 kids in my room at the time but I plan to do it again this year with 22) and I had 7 stations. We only did 2 a day. I had 2 groups of computers, math, writing, independent reading, checkers, and meet with me. Sometimes buddy reading, nonfiction research, Spelling. I changed them every two weeks or so. I usually didnt change all of them at the same time. The kids didnt mind doing the same station as long as the content changed such as in the nonfiction station when we were reading a story that took us to the desert I put books about the desert in that station and they had to research facts and write them on a poster that everyone added to. Then when we started reading about the rainforest I changed the books to rainforest. I found the simplest things work and you dont need to have them turn something in for each station. I honestly could trust them to do what was asked of them at each station. I hope it works as well next year since I won't have the same number of pull out kids as this past year. Good luck!
