another twist

This is another way to quiet a chatty class for awhile anyhow....I just introduced a "mystery student." I draw a name from my sticks and that individual is the mystery student for the day. They do not know who it is. I tell them that I will be watching for the entire day and if my mystery student does well, stays on task, and performs appropriately, they will get a treat at the end of the day and I will announce their name to the class. If they have not followed the classroom rules and not completed their work then they do not get the treat and I do not tell the class who it is. I will just say that the mystery student will have to try harder to get their treat the next time their name is picked. It's amazing how they respond to this. All day long they keep telling each other to be quiet, pay attention, and get their work done....she's watching us. We'll try anything won't we to hang on to our sanity.LOL
