I have a couple of activites that may help with practicing telling time. One is Time Check. My students number a 1/4 sheet of copy paper 1-6. I set a timer and when the timer goes off they have to write the time on their time check sheet by #1. Then we check the time they wrote down. I set the timer again... so we get 6 practices each day for a while. Each time the timer goes off we talk about the time. It seems more fun and a more authentic practice than worksheets.
Another activity I use with my students as a whole group, partner, or small group activity uses a clock for each child and 2 dice for the group. We roll the dice and add the numbers together. The hour is set to the number that is the sum of the 2 dice. Then we roll the 2 dice and set the minutes in the same way. Then the students tell me the time or write it on a whiteboard.
