Author Studies By SkyDiveGirl
|
| What if you have your class do author studies. Discuss multiple books by the same author and compare their style of writing. Then span out to compare to other authors. We have a great program called Making Meaning which focuses on comprehension skills (vizualizing, making inferences, questioning, and so on). Our school district has a great Balanced Literacy Implementation Guide. Go to www.rps205.com, click on 'curriculum/programs' on the sidebar, click on 'reading' in the main page, click on 'BLIG' on the sidebar, and choose 3rd grade. Lots of great ideas! We follow it month by month. good luck!
