    Race to Zero

This is a game I learned from John Hinton. He is a great mathmatician who has created tons of wonderful games about math. If you ever have the opportunity to take a class with him jump on it or buy his books.

    Race to Zero is easy.
You start off with 10 tens and you have dice. Each time you roll you have to take away that number and regroup to make the ones. I use digi blocks because I find them easier but if you use regular base ten blocks and and ten/ones placemat it works out great. The kids have a blast. You keep doing this to the first person has zero.

The same game can be played with addition. It's called race to 100. Reverse directions.
