How about playing a trivia pursuit type game or State Bingo? Symbol charades. Do you have a state dance? Sing your state song. Make hats to represent the symbols of your state. Ask any county, city, or state reps to visit your classroom to speak. Call the governor's office and see what they can send. Our governor visited our little town so another teacher made arrangements for 4th grade to visit and meet. We had our picture taken with him. Kids love it.
