To help with organization of writing I am also having them write about how to eat a gingerbread man cookie ie; first nibble off the head, next slowly savor the right arm, etc. It's always fun to have them write from someone else's perspective. They could pretend they are one of the elves and write to Santa telling him that they are very tired of making so many toys each year, or that they want a raise..
