    Even and Odd

    We use ten-frames and counters or unifix cubes.
    I reinforce that even numbers are doubles and
    odd numbers are doubles + 1.

    So 4 is even because 2 + 2 = 4 (doubles) but
    5 is odd because 2 + 2 + 1 = 5 (doubles + 1).

    They can really visualize by using the ten frames.
