Care is the most important. I went over how to care for them and we demonstrated how to walk with them to put them away. (We had a closet to keep them in) I only let a certain amount of students walk at one time and they had to use both hands. I also had rules for when they were on the laptop and when I was talking...they had to blacken out the screen or turn the lid down. I found kids could easily get distracted otherwise and not listen to you at all. I had a monitor and we stepped through items together. Once they got the hang of it, the laptops were nice because kids really did excel. They enjoyed researching and creating PowerPoints, etc. I know I'm not much help either. I would think about all the "what ifs" before you start and come up with procedures for everything. Simplify simplify instructions. Remember also that the kids may be very slow typists. We spent a lot of time at the beginning with typing skills before we could go anywhere else.
