Tough situation!

You're right, this is not as common a symptom as Dateline would have us think. Is she on meds? It is her legal right to be in the classroom, but she should be OHI at least. If she's new to the district, the other kids should be educated as to what is happening. If she's been there for a while they should be somewhat used to it. My DH has Tourettes, although not a severe case, and educating him was no picnic I'm sure.
At any rate, best wishes to you. I hope you find a way to help all of your students deal with this.
