one finger means I need to use the RR two fingers means I need help three fingers means I need a new pencil Whether on the carpet or at their seats I can see what they need and simply nod or shake my head. If a student comes up to me I don't answer until they sit and raise their hand. The only exception is for a tissue but I'm thinking of making that "four fingers" if it gets out of hand (I teach 2nd). HTH! :D
