A fellow teacher... By MrsDriver
|
| of mine last year was given a 2nd grader (who was retained twice) who was extremely violent. Each year the whole school goes on field trip to a fair and she was told by administration to take this child. He was nice the whole day until it was time to leave. He planted himself on the ground and said he wasn't leaving. She could not get him to budge. She had to call security who in turn had to call the cops (they work the fair as well). The child actually hit one of the cops and was cuffed and escorted out. The cops put him on the school bus and he acted like nothing happened. The next day he shoved the teacher and she fell. She is in her sixties and now she has constant back problems which effect her other joints and stuff. The child was only given a one day suspension. The reason for this is because our Superintendant would come down on the admins. for any suspensions no matter what the child did. Thank god our principal is a wonderful person and backs the teachers. She immediately pulled the child and demanded that the parents put him in his home school. We were a school of choice, the kids could come to us even if they didn't live in the area. We found out later that the child had already been arrested at least three times. Yikes! You need to make out a police report even if you don't press charges. That way you have a record in case it gets worse.
