You CAN file a police report

And I would not hesitate to do it. I know he's only in second grade but this is totally unacceptable behavior. Think about it...in what other profession would we say it's OK for a professional to be hit and pretty much nothing done about it? None! Thankfully I've never been hit by a student but if it happens I will file a report. The child is not arrested or anything like that, but it provides documentation of what happened and would hopefully get the parents' attention.
