I've done the itsy bitsy spider, and then we make a water spout and spider. Water spout is a paper towel tube wrapped in aluminum foil. The spider is made of black yarn. The students wrap black yarn around a piece of cardboard. The teacher ties it in the middle, and then cut the ends (hard to explain...it is how you make pom poms)...the pom pom spider is on a string that can be pulled up through the water spout to retell the finger play.

I am also comparing two books...Five Bats Flying in the Night, and Five Spooky Ghosts. We will use a Venn Diagram made out of hoola hoops and pictures from each story to compare them...we will then create a mobile to decorate our room with five bats and five ghosts hanging from orange and black streamers.
