    Clip to ScrapBook

I use manilla folders as well. I staple two together so it makes 3 surfaces. Each one of my students has one and it stands up on the table (which also gives each student a designated work area and helps focus them during writing). When writing workshop is over the kids fold them up and put them in their writing folders.

In mine I staple a sound card, a list of "Words I Know", and an "I can/I'm learning to" page. Each office is tailored to each child. The "Words I Know" chart and the "I Can/I'm Learning To" chart is blank at the beginning of the year and I add to these as students learn.

I also use these to monitor whether students are using the sounds, words, and things I've taught them. It is for their use as a resource as well as mine in supporting them during conferences.
