desk & binder clean By roo
|
| I have a 5-10 min desk & binder clean time once a week. I've done it for several years now and it makes a HUGE difference in my students' organization. If their desk and binder can already "pass inspection" (sometimes there's a treat involved, but not too often) they often pitch in to help a classmate who's more "organizationally challenged". For that rare student whose desk becomes a pigsty shortly after we've finished cleaning, I always offer my personal cleaning service, but I inform them that it will cost them 5 pts. (they can earn a pt. daily for good behavior). I've rarely had students who need to do this...they always seem to find the motivation to clean. It's funny...if we get busy and work through our normal desk & binder clean time, one of the students will inevitably remind me and ask if we can do it (and it's often the one who really needs it!) I'd highly recommend putting a few minutes aside for this each week. :s)
