I am looking for some ideas on how to incorporate the presidential elections into my 6th grade classroom. This is something that I really want to do, but I am looking for several ideas on how to go about it. I am thinking of having my student's practice note taking by doing research on the candidates and specific issues regarding their stances. Then I thought students could work on their presentation skills by presenting what they found. I also think it would be great to do daily reports on what's in the news regarding the elections. Does anyone have any other ideas? Anyone know of good books regarding elections that are appropriate for 6th graders?
