Fect or Fib By 3rd Grade Rox
|
| I have my students play Fact or Fib. I give each of my students an index card. On it they need to write down 3 things about themselves- 2 need to be the truth and one of them needs to be a fib. Then the students get to read their card in front of the class (or you can even do it if you have some shy ones) and then the class needs to decide on which one is the fib. Next, they tell us which one really is the fib. Some of the students are really good about coming up with a good fib, others are just hillarious what they think we might believe (like....I have a blue dog). The students all really have a good time with this game.
Spencer Kagan also has a book out called "Cooperative Learning" and he has a whole bunch of getting to know you games that promote unity in the classroom (that's where I found this game). I use a few of his games at the beginning of the year. Best of luck!
