At the end of the year, I write a simple 4 line personal poem about each child, add his/her photo and copy. This is our "Friends" section at the end of the notebook. The notebook has a page before the personal poems begin that each student has signed. I do one student a day and they can hardly wait to see who the poem is about. Before they get the new personal poem, we read all of those we have added. They still get excited every time we read their poem. EX. There is a girl in our room. She always brings her lunch. _____ is her name. We like her a bunch.
