Focus on skills By yesteach

| Is what we were told in a writing workshop... So, for example, you've just taught verb tense y was and were - after teaching it they're expected to do it correctly and edit... but perhaps you've not taught using a semicolon before a conjunction, so that can be "overlooked" until it's taught. Their editing should improve as they progress through the lessons. I also use peer editing.. sometimes a classmate sees what the writer misses... We also teach them to read their writing out loud, often they catch mistakes when they hear it...
