I would also make sure this child is doing his reflection during a time when he is missing something he really likes...free time, recess, etc. You might also want to involve the guidance counselor or principal by having this child take his reflection to them so they can talk with him about his poor choice. On the other hand, it will be very important to "search" for times when you can compliment this child on his positive choice(s). Be sure you are not only telling him verbally, but also document for him and his file times when this happens. Write him positive notes...they are "real" and he can see and touch them. These should also be shared with the guidance counselor and principal so they can add their positive comments.
