    getting feet wet....

    I have been subbing for 2 1/2 years and I have been in every type of classroom K-12. I now have my favorites and my sub caller knows this but I do take just about anything. Give it some time. It doesn't hurt to suggest and request what you would like to do more of. Things will eventually go okay. I usually do middle and high school but I like the variety in elementary once in awhile. I told one of the schools that if something comes up to give me a call. It makes a big impression if you are willing to do anything and then its okay to weed out the classes that you don't care to do. I am a history teacher sooo I try and stay away from the heavy duty Math and Science. I do not speak a foriegn language either but most of the time for those types of classes it will be busy work and actually it's fun because the kids teach you words that are hopefully appropriate I have seen some very interesting videos on France and Spain too

    Hang in there...... It's tough job but it is awonderful experience!
