I know many of the students at the local elementary school cannot read or write in cursive. My niece was like that too. They teach them down here in the third grade, but nobody ever requires students to write after learning the alphabet. When my niece was in the fifth grade, I had to sit down with her and have her trace the entire alphabet because she forgot it all. all of her friends are the same way. Are the kids in my very large district going to grow up without knowing how to sign their names?There is very little I can do for these kids. I am a brand new sub and i don't want to make any waves, but something must be done for kids' sake. Who do I turn to for help?
