If you find that you are really finding the time and enjoying it, ask for a machine maybe for your birthday. If you are in need of the basic machines: cutters, tape runners, shapes, etc... Creative Memories is a great source as they kind of lay out things you might need in order to get started. Of course, I don't always buy my supplies from them, but they do have some good ones. Some of the things I get at Hobby Lobby b/c I like other brands better. Must haves: small trimmer for photos long 12 x 12 trimmer for big papers adhesives (I prefer two sided tape) album (of course!) organize pictures now! If you don't have any b.c this for the baby decide HOW you plan on organizing once you take them. This is the biggest headache! list of pages you want to make (such as first bath, nursery, first Easter, sitting up, etc...) That way you won't forget things you want to include once the baby gets here. I googled ideas as well as looked through premade baby books to get ideas. a calendar for baby's room (sounds crazy, but this is where I kept all of his milestones until I was ready to scrap them. You may not have time to run to your scrap table everytime he does something new) a place to work... even if it is a small folding table in the corner of your bedroom (which is what I have now that we have kids). You may have already thought of these things, but just in case. I don't buy a TON of machines, bc they are so costly and I can't justify the cost for it to sit in my closet! :D Best of luck to you and baby! And if you want ask MIL for a gift card to Hobby Lobby so once baby gets here you can see what you want or need! PM if you have any questions! Check your area some have meet-up crop groups as well as some scrap stores will too.
