    Two days a week, I do guided lessons with my class. Then the last 3 days, they work in workstations practicing the skills that we have learned. They spend 20 minutes in each station. My stations are:

    -Guided Reading &/or Guided Writing (My assistant and I change what we do in our groups each week)
    -Writing (free-writing, letter writing, peer editing, etc.)
    -Working with Words
    -Information (read informational texts, conduct research for writing, etc.)
    -Independent Reading
    -Computers (super sleuths, AR tests, publish writing, etc)

    I created a chart that shows how students progress through the stations. I tried to make the stations create a circle around the room, that way students would naturally head to the closest station.
