I'm going to be trying this next year also. I'm planning on using the Mayer Johnson symbols along with the printed words and the ASL sign. I think I'm going to do separate cards so that they can be matched from time to time. My plan is to organize the words by category rather than first letter (days, colors, people, doing words, etc). I think this will help with language concepts. I am also planning to cover my board with felt and velcro the words and symbols so that it is easy to manipulate. My kids have trouble with pocket charts. I am planning on using enlarge pictures/words and using a flashlight as a pointer to accommodate my student with cortical blindness. I would also be interested in any group activities using the word wall.
