Reading 45 minutes D.E.A.R. 30 minutes Tuesday - Reading 45 minutes English 45 minutes D.E.A.R. 30 minutes Wednesday - Spelling 30 minutes Reading 45 minutes D.E.A.R. 30 minutes English 45 minutes Thursday - D.E.A.R. 30 minutes English 45 minutes Friday - Spelling 20 minutes Reading 45 minutes D.E.A.R. 30 minutes English 45 minutes I teach spelling 3 days a week Monday - pretest, correct words, asssign to write wrong words 3x and assign and go over w/b pages Wed.- correct w/b pages and play spelling game to review for test Fri. - turn in w/b pages and take test Spelling is a no brainer for 5th graders so they need to put in their time and not take up class time Reading I teach 4 days a week and add in when have time on any day. Drop Everything And Read time is 30 minutes 5 x a week which is choice reading time and time for me to work individually with kids having problems or who have missed class. Hope this helps
