    The presenter gave us a sheet of paper where students write down the word, its meaning, the sentence in the text, their own sentece, part of speech, prefix, and suffix. She didn't mention anything about the notebooks, but you're right - I was going to have them use one of the "mini-notebooks." As far as assessment, she gave them a test once a week. I don't remember how she gave them the test. I was thinking to give them other activities to do with their new words, such as word maps. I was thinking of having them complete these assignments as their morning work.
