    Clip to ScrapBook

I am not sure about diseases. I have had him for about a year and a half. He was a valentine's gift from my boyfriend!LOL
I get his food at the pet supply store by my house. It is very cheap. Geckos also like crickets but I think they are harder to keep on hand. The mealworms/waxworms are easy to keep and easy to feed to the gecko.
His cage is just as you have described. I use a "bedding" that is a kind of reptile sand. He as a water dish and a fake wood cave to hide in. I use a lid from a frosting container for his food. I have a little stick on thermometer in his cage. I don't use a supplemental heat source for him. Room temperature seems to be okay for him. I have noticed that he is less active in the winter months.
He doesn't smell--which I think makes him a great classroom pet.
