I was really excited to find the "reading glasses". I will put them in my reading buddies literacy work station and let the kids wear them if they want to while reading to their buddy. I will probably try to find a few more pairs but thought I'd start out small. I have a very tiny room so I can only have about 2-3 stations going while I read/conference with one student (check out Debbie Diller's Literacy Work Stations and her book called Getting the Most Out of Small Groups for more great ideas). I often have my students read poems or writings from big charts and I plan to use the decorative pencils as pointers. I have two or 3 other pointer and the kids love to use them. I got a couple of decorative boxes with handles that I'll put out as a sorting work station. Since these are small they won't take up much space! I'll use the flat plastic baskets/trays for other work stations too; perhaps to hold various stationary and other paper. The jigsaw puzzles and flashcards will be put out to use when the kids finish with their work or perhaps as a separate work station. Since I'm a Title I teacher ( pull - out) I'll probably only do work stations once a week, to help tie in what the students are working on in their classrooms. Hope this helps. If you want more information or have other questions, please feel free to send me a private message. I'll be happy to help you out any way I can.
