    Parents not using class website

I don't know how many hours I've spent working on my website initially....but, I always make sure that I update it regularly and encourage the parents to please read it weekly.

I also send home a weekly newsletter with the website address so that the parents can view vital weekly information: spelling words, announcements, vocabulary, story of the week, math skill for the week, etc....

Sometimes, I feel that all my efforts are for naught. MANY of my parents (who HAVE internet access) don't even bother to look at the site and end up sending me notes/emails asking for information that IS POSTED... arg.

I respectfully acknowledge their request but, for example, instead of sending home ANOTHER spelling list, I give them the website address.

Do you ever feel like spending time on the class site is for nothing? I don't feel this way ALL the time since I occasionally share the site in class and use the links that I've posted. I just think the parents could access the site and not worry about sending me emails or notes complaining that their kiddo "lost" their information....arg..

thanks for letting me "vent"... :)
By the way, if you're wondering what I do for the kids whose parents DON'T have internet access, I DO send the info home...I'm just kinda miffed at the ones who HAVE access and don't take the effort to use it.
