Also, they are very organized. Once I was signed up, I was automatically registered with supplies (books, CD's, etc.) sent to my home for the each semester. That was great. I didn't have to worry about which class to sign up for, when to sign up, would the class be full, etc. What were the courses like? Did you have daily assignments? Quizzes? Tests? If you had quizzes and tests were they timed? Did you have to write a lot of papers? Was there a final project? You have weekly assignments -- Usually a couple of "discussion" questions that the professor will post for all students to respond to. You will answer and then you have to also read other students responses and respond to at least two of their responses. Kind of like this discussion board that we do here. At the beginning of the course you'll introduce yourself and tell a little about yourself and read everyone's introduction. You get to know the people and their personality. You'll even decide if you like them or not (heehee). Anyway, they usually stay with you all the way through until graduation and people want to meet (they are from all over the US - just like us). Then, you will have another assignment that you will have to do and only turn it in to the professor. There is a "drop box" on the "Blackboard" if that's the program they still use. The drop box is where you will send your assignment to your professor and no one else will see it. You will also have some reading to do and there are quizzes on these readings. No more than 5 questions. Remember it's all online. No actual tests -- just these quizzes if I remember correctly. You will have a Research class. Yuck! It's no different from the Research class in the traditional college. Finally, your final project is a portfolio. They will give you directions on what to put in it. It will include things from every course that you take. These things will collected and put into a large(!) binder and mailed to your professor of your last class. Don't do like I did and wait until the last 2 or 3 classes before I started gathering my stuff together for my portfolio. I really got into a time crunch. As soon as he or she receives it, she will email you and tell you if it's okay or not. If not, she'll tell you what to fix and send to her. I haven't known anyone that had any problems. Good luck with whichever college you choose. If you have anymore questions, let me know and I'll be glad to answer or send you my email address.
