I just can't work without the plans, I need them to help me organize myself. And I think without planning, the year could end like a big party, and I would find that hard to manage. Also, I think the kids behavior stays much more stable if the schedule sticks as close as possible to the rest of the year, don't you? So even though not everything gets done, I think its worth it to have it organized and written down, with a goal. Also, at this time I do some new themes (ie research) as well as expanding on previous skills, practice, review. We work on year end projects too, like a yearbook and a letter to the next class, and thank you notes to everyone who's helped us all year (bus drivers, library aide, supervisors, room reps, etc) I really liked that thread where there was a year end activity for every letter of the alphabet.
