I think that they are still worthy, but I also have a lot of my lessons carrying over from the previous week to the next week due to so many interrruptions (assemblies and field trips and guest speakers). Since I don't get to everything I planned for this time of year and they carry over to next week, it is nice not to have to plan for so much. I think this helps me to feel less burnt out.
Also, I think being able to really align what you are doing with what motivates kids. For my class, they LOVE projects. We are ending with some choice projects, I do still have direct instruction time and expectations for behavior, but I am coupling that with the projects. Good luck!:D
