    Clip to ScrapBook

I don't think the two necessarily go hand in hand.

I know some great teachers who have children--single parents and married parents. Some have no children or never married. I also know some pretty sorry teachers who have children as well. The same goes for the ones with no children. There's some of each anywhere you look.

I think I'm good at my job, and I don't have children. I taught for something like 8 years before I even met my husband. We've been married for almost 7 years, and we're not having any children.

I wasn't even ever AROUND kids growing up. I'm an only child and an only grandchild. I was around adults or people my age at school.

I taught two years of 12th grade and then switched to middle school. Not having children has never been an issue with my teaching. If anything, I think it's helped me to be able to do more things for "my kids" at work because I don't have the responsibility of children of my own when I get home.
