    Title I
    By A&W

We had two title I teachers. In the upper grades she would pull out students for 30 minutes, 4 times a week. In the lower grades she had reading block times for about 1-1 1/2 hours.

I only knew what the upper grade teacher did. She would assess all students in reading using the STAR score, beginning & middle. There are no EA/aides in reading, and she would take care of her own lessons. Teachers make their own lesson plans. We have a PDT/Professional Development Teacher. The PDT helps us with the district reading program, we meet with her every Tuesday as a grade level for 1 hour. The PDT is available to come in and model lessons, support us in reading and writing, to observe and give feedback.

Because of the PDT I don't think we rely on the Title I teacher for support or input. In the nearby district they are also using someone similar to the PDT in our district, and the title I teacher is left to teaching reading in small groups.
