I was like you and didn't know anything and I just jumped in and had a go.

I have made contact with two American school's (I'm from Australia) and then read the story to my class. And discussd it.

We then we designed a picture of Flat Stanly and colored it in about A4 size or 5" x 9". We created a questionaire of questions we would like to know about where our stanly was going.

We also made him a little diary or journal to take with him. I have contacted my stanley to protect him (some have them laminated)

You send the "stanley", questionaire and journal to the chosen class. They keep him for a week and keep record of his adventures, by recording in the journal and then return it all (sometimes including photo's) and the corresponding school does the same and you host their stanley.

The students learn how to keep diaries, write letters and write and fill out questionaires. Some schools actually have every student creating a stanley and each one is sent to a different class in other schools. (A lot to organise.)

    Hope this makes sense.
