    I'm having the same problem with the Ticonderoga pencil tips breaking as the students use them (I never had problems in the past). In fact, this happened not too long ago as my students were using them to bubble in District Assessments. I became impatient with the number of students who kept getting up to sharpen their pencils (the sharpener is so noisy!), when I discovered that it was the pencils and not the students.

    I informed our front office about them and picked up more boxes. Same problem with many more pencils...so I hope for at least a 50% batch of usable pencils.

    I'll just keep returning them to the front office in hopes that they'll inform the company. I'd hate to see $$$ go to waste.

    It's annoying enough that students keep losing their pencils and/or not coming to class with one.... ;)
