Sharpeners By cinaminsweet
|
| I am on my second sharpener so far this year. The first one I got from Staples for about $13, so you can just imagine how long that lasted. Then I ordered one with bonus points from Scholastic. It does a pretty good job, except that the light that's supposed to come on when the pencil is sharp stopped working only after a couple of days. Also, not too long after I got it, it would continue to sharpen even after the pencil was taken out. The only way to get it to stop sharpening was to unplug it. It has stopped doing that now, though. The kids can only use it in the morning. After that they have to trade out for one of the nubby pencils in a container or use a handheld one. I also have a pink battery-operated one I got at Target that I also use when a lot of pencils need to be sharpened.
I see a lot of people here recommend the Xacto one. I might get that one the next time my sharpener breaks, which I'm sure will be any day now because I think I'm cursed when it comes to sharpeners.
