I teach students how to write compliments and say kind words. When our seating chart is in pods or cooperative groups, I have each student write their name at the top of a piece of paper. They pass the paper around the pod and each person writes something nice on the paper about the person. I do this each time I change the seating arrangement, unless we are in rows. It is a remarkable start for a new group that is sitting together. Some save those notes all year.
