    Clip to ScrapBook

Great question. I had this happen to me last year in third grade. A girl was placed in my class because that was the grade she was suppossed to be in. Was able to do math because they bought workbooks from Wal-Mart, could only write her letters in capitals (Mom told me that her daughter fought her tooth and nail on lower case so they never did it). Other than that for academics they did a lot of crafts (quoted at separate times from Mom and daughter) and went to the library every week. She was not functioning on a 3rd grade level. Plus, she was only at school 2 - 3 times a week (Dad would let her stay home for anything). I contacted my principal, Special Ed leader who then contacted ou district special ed administrator to determine our proceeding. Well after the testing process began, she was pulled from school because (and I quote) Mom and Dad prefer her being with them during the day. Imagine what her life holds for her.
