    There is so much you can do around the holidays. Is your school doing Xmas around the world? You could build activities on that theme. Are you leaving regular plans and just want back up stuff that you don't mind not being completed? Or are you looking for an extra unit that the sub will be expected to complete?
    Card writing for less fortunate groups/seniors-Leave the addressed envelope to be dropped in the mail or make delivery arrangements ahead.
    Gingerbread glyphs/graphing
    Letters to santa
    Class book ideas-letters to santa, favorite reindeer/christmas memory
    Snowman poetry w/literature connection-sensory poems work well with this if you are in a snowy area
    Arctic Animals
    Center activities with seasonal theme
