We don't close school once it's open for the day. Parents are free to come and get their child if they wish but no one is dismissed without parents or babysitters.
Last year, the heat went out one January night and the pipes froze and burst. There was water everywhere and no heat in the building. It was 50 degrees. PreK-2 were packed into the library and watched movies until lunch time.
