I talked to my principal this morning and she said to leave the bonus points with the teachers for now until a school wide decision can be made. Now what will happen in the future I am not sure. The school accountant made a comparison with the school credit card he uses to pay bills with. The credit card accumulates bonus points that can be spend on many different items. Stuff for free. He doesn't get to spend the bonus points for himself. They go to the school. I personally don't buy that comparison! The teachers all have their own account numbers and although we all order at the same time, it is totally up to them to decide to order or not. I understand the administrative position that bonus points would be a great way to build up permanent classroom libraries that would remain "behind" with a teacher leaves. There is a school budget for classroom libraries but it is never enough of course. Thanks again to everyone for your replies. Nadya the librarian
