    1. I don't send home rec., but I do send a list of book levels that appear in the book order. We do balanced literacy, so kids know their reading level. The list always comes in the front cover of Scholastic book orders. It's a good way for parents to know what book is on their child's reading level.

    2. I try to send two letters home each week. I keep track to make sure that each student gets at least one! In this letter I write how proud I am of their work and what a pleasure it is to have a kid so special in my class. I always make sure to personalize it and I use really cute stationary. I teach 6th grade and my kids LOVE it. They usually write a letter back. The funny thing is that I had a student that came to visit me. She still had the letter FOUR YEARS LATER! It's amazing what a few nice words can do!

3.YES! I give a pencil, card, and a Scholastic Coupon for a free book..(I buy it with points)

4.YES..I always give them goody bags. I get most of my stuff from Oriental Trading. We usually do art projects from Oriental Trading. My 6th graders love it. They still are LITTLE KIDS!! especially when you work in the inner city..Sometimes, these things are the only nice things done for them:s)
