content area reading By Nik
|
| I teach social studies in a middle school (sixth grade). I do not rely entirely on the textbook, but I do feel we need to read it. You have to have a starting point. Anyway, I have tried reading together as a class, reading in partners, and reading independently. One textbook we use includes a student workbook with guided reading questions. I like that because it gives them a purpose to their reading. My question is this, "What have you found to be the most effective content area reading strategy?"
