I would suggest checking out "Responsive Classroom" information. Their website is www.responsiveclassroom.org. I have recently implemented morning meeting (due to so many kids being cruel to each other and general lack of compassion). We have only been doing it for a week and already I have seen some changes with students' attitudes. I feel my class is more bonded.
I'm a new teacher and am with 6th grade.
