I had the children do a winter scene. I taught them about Grandma Moses. I showed them how to do the foreground and background and the horizon line. This really is'nt a craft but you can maybe tie into some history about snow and how the early people coped with snow. The children penciled in their work. Then they colored them in. Then they painted them with tempera paint. This is called crayon resist. It really is something that you can do in conjunction with the art teacher.
